The Cardfighter’s Column – 2016. 08. 12.
Featuring an interview with the European Continental Champion Team, Golden Sun!
You can read this week’s entry here: http://cf-vanguard.com/en/column/2016_08_12/
The main feature of this week’s blog entry is an interview with the champions of the 2016 Bushiroad Spring Fest European Continental Finals, Team Golden Sun. Their members consist of Gareth Alistair Meadows (Granblue), Tianyu Tao (Gear Chronicle) and Chin Yu Yuen (Angel Feather).
The interview starts out with the standard questions, such as how the team feels about their victory and how the team got together, as well what are their favorite cards and which anime characters they would challenge.
When asked what game or anime development the team looks forward to in the latter half of 2016, Tao responded he wishes to see clans with less support, such as Oracle Think Tank, Genesis, Nubatama and Spike Brothers receive more new cards, as his friends playing those clans have been disappointed over the lack of support. He also wishes already strong clans to not be made stronger, as it is unbalanced, and he really hates a game designer who only focuses on his favorite clans and not the others. Interestingly, it is worth noting that just last week, Mr. Akiyama, the director of Cardfight!! Vanguard, commented on Gear Chronicle being his favorite clan, and Gear Chronicle support is consistently coming, such as a Clan Booster and support included in the Booster Set after that.
Gareth wishes to see more clans receive Start Decks and older deck builds such as Amon receive support, as well reprints of rare cards.
In regards to becoming a better player, Gareth answered that you have to go with your heart, or else it won’t be the true you. Tao suggests playing more games and finding the tips by yourselves, and learning how to improve yourselves. As well noting that the G Zone expansion and G Guardians made the game more clear to him, no longer holding the opinion of the game being a luck game which is decided by Triggers.
