And Now For A Word From The Vanguard R&D Department!!
Today we’re introducing 3 cards from the Character Booster “TRY3 NEXT”: 《Royal Paladin》’s “Shining King of Knights, Alfred Oath”, and the Alfred Support Cards “Swordsman of Light, Picus” and “Scion Rider”.
“Alfred” has powered up even further! When “Shining King of Knights, Alfred Oath” is place on the Vanguard Circle, you can use its ability to Call 2 cards with “Swordsman of Light” or “Blaster” from your Deck! This ability doesn’t require a Generation Break, nor depends on your opponent’s Grade, you can bring out a ton of cards even early on. Allowing you to Call Support Units like “Swordsman of Light, Ahmes” and “Swordsman of Light, Junos”. It’s also good for Units that have abilities that activated when they’re placed on the field from the Deck like “Blaster Blade Spirit”. And since its ability works when it it’s placed on the field, it works well with Stride. Stride into “Transmigratory Dragon, Holy Squire Dragon”, and with your First Stride you can achieve Generation Break 2. Upon achieving Generation Break 2, for each of your Rear-guards, this Unit gains Power+2000. If you can’t Stride, it still serves as a fairly reliable attacker.
“Swordsman of Light, Picus” is an Attacker that supports Alfred and is treated as a Grade 2 while in the Deck. Since it’s a Grade 2, it can be Called with the abilities of cards like “Knight of Twin Sword”, allow you to Call it from the Deck to a Rear-guard Circle. Also, when another Unit is placed on a Rear-guard Circle due to a card effect, it gains Power+5000! If you call two cards, you’ll fundamentally have a super powerful Attacker with a base Power of 21000. So call a ton of Units and gain Power.
“Scion Rider” is a Critical Trigger that when your Vanguard attacks, you can place it into the Soul to Counter Charge 2 cards! Since many 《Royal Paladin》 use Counter Blasts, an ability that Counter Charges 2 cards is very nice. And since you can recover the cost when you attack, you can aim for continuous attacks later on during that Battle Phase.
Also, “TRY3 NEXT” contains a ton of cards that strengthen 《Royal Paladin》 Decks, so be sure to keep an eye on furhter information! Also, WGP2016 is being held this weekend at Kanazawa! So be sure to check it out!

A. Yes, it gains Power+5000. When “Shining King of Knights, Alfred Oath” at the same time, you’re able to fulfill the condition of a “Via card effect, when another of your Units is placed on a Rear-guard Circle” effect.
